My Lord,
With reference to my telegram dated the
6th of November, 1929, and Your Lordship's telegram dated the 9th of November, 1929, on the subject
of the proposed grant and subsidy to the Hong Kong
I
Flying Club, I have the honour to inform Your Lordship that the Club has now been inaugurated. enclose copies of the newspaper reports of the constituent meeting held on the 20th of December, 1929, at which an Organising Committee was appointed. The Committee has now proceeded to prepare a Memorandum and Articles of Association which have been submitted for registration and is proceeding as rapidly as may be with enrolment of members and the necessary organisation with a view to commence flying at the earliest opportunity. It is expected that the Club will have some eighty flying members and will require two light machines to start with, and will employ a fully qualified pilot instructor from home. It is hoped
that both the machines and instructor will be
available about the end of February to enable a start
to be made before the bad summer weather sets in.
The general enthusiasm with which these

proposals have been greeted is most gratifying and I
have no reason to doubt that the Club will be a success.
I have,
etc.
(Signed) C. CLEMENTI.
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE
LORD PASSFIELD,
etc., etc.,
etc.
Governor, etc.
